Both of Apple’s new phones are available. You can head to your nearest Apple Store and by the iPhone 8 or the iPhone X. The iPhone X comes at a steep price and edge-to-edge OLED screen, while the iPhone 8 is an incremental upgrade over the iPhone 7. The question is, which one should you get?
Camera
Regarding the shooters from both phones, both of them deliver best-in-class images. The only difference between the camera on the 8 Plus and X is that both the cameras on the X come with optical image stabilization. Also, the telephoto lens on the X has a smaller aperture.
Performance
Both iPhone comes with the blisteringly fast A11 Bionic chip, so there is no difference regarding overall performance. If you compare either phone to a top of the line Android phone, the iPhones are a lot faster. Between the two, the iPhone 8 Plus was a little quicker on the Geekbench scores.
ID
The iPhone X comes with the new Face ID, something that will eventually make its way to the rest of the line-up. However, the technology still has a long way to go and does not work for several use cases. Most people still prefer Touch ID.
For the vast majority of people, the iPhone 8 Plus remains the best option of the two. You can get the top of the line iPhone 8 Plus with 256GB of storage and still have $50 left over from what It costs to buy an iPhone X. You get the same processor, a similar camera, and Touch ID.
