With the way how we look for employment changes, LinkedIn is also doing its bit to help people by means of a new feature known as Endorsements. With a little help from your friends, colleagues and family, you might just be able to find favor with employers who are short on time. So, how does these LinkedIn “Endorsements” feature work? Are there any tasks that you must carry out as well?
Right off the bat, the first thing that you should do is spruce up your profile on LinkedIn by adding a picture and a few tags as well as an overview of what you do. Along with this you can also join a few groups where you can meet people who have similar interests too.
After this, you’ll have to access the Skills & Expertise Menu so as to add a few relevant skills to your profile. Not only will you get more information about the skill but also related skills and the geographical locations where these positions are commonly available.
As soon as you finish creating your profile, and add a few skills, then people who you are connected to are invited to endorse you. You can do the same for them by using the Endorse button which is less tedious than having to fill out a LinkedIn recommendation.
And if you are still questioning as to whether using this feature is worth it, employers who notice how well you are endorsed won’t necessarily have to read a thousand words on your profile to know that they’ve made the right choice.
With that said, this feature is only a few months old and could give LinkedIn Recommendations a run for its money soon.
