If there’s anything that true about Windows 8, your ability to navigate easily would be greatly enhanced by using keyboard shortcuts, especially for those who are still learning how to use the new operating system offered by Windows.
Critics and its users are well aware of the difficulties involved in using Windows 8. It’s really difficult to find several popular functions (one being Shut Down, for example) weirdly enough that were considered to be the basics of using earlier Windows operating systems.
Thankfully, with Windows 8, Microsoft has released a list of shortcuts that can help you navigate just as quickly as was possible with earlier operating systems. So, here is a list of Windows 8 keyboard shortcuts, all of which involve holding down the Windows key:
#1: Windows-X
This command opens up a list of Windows tools such as Power Options, Device Manager, Command Prompt and Disk Management.
#2: Windows-I
This shortcut key brings up the Settings Charm, where you will find several functions apart from the Power icon which you can use to shut down the PC.
#3: Windows-PrtSc
Using this shortcut captures a screenshot, saving it in the PNG format, and places it in Screenshots sub-folder which is located in the Pictures folder.
#4: Windows-D
This command will switch you to Desktop mode. Similar to Window 7, as soon as you hit this command again, it will toggle between minimize/ restore all windows.
#5: Windows-C
Using this command will bring up the Charms bar and which will provide you access to commands such as Search, Share and Settings.
