In most cases, buying a laptop is the ideal machine to purchase. So, here are 3 rules that you must keep in mind when buying a new laptop:

#1: Try using the laptop before you buy it

Despite the fact that the popularity of brick-and-mortar stores are waning, there are a few that you can visit to get a better look at the laptops that you might be interested in. It’s a good idea to do this especially if you are a non-techie.

#2: If money isn’t a constraint, buy a system with SSD

SSD stands for ‘solid state drive’ and since it has no moving parts, it not only runs faster but also generates less heat and consumes less power than a traditional hard drive that you can get easily get for much lesser these days. While you would have to compromise on storage space, it’s not much of a disadvantage since most people only use up about 100 GB or so.

#3: Look for laptops with at least 4 GB of RAM

Unfortunately, there are several laptops that come with 2 GB RAM and that isn’t good enough. When you buy a laptop, ensure that you buy one with a memory of about 4 GB RAM. Anything less will result in your system running very slowly.
