With the recent release of Facebook Home for a list of Android devices, users, especially those who are obsessed with Facebook, can benefit from applications such as Chat Heads and Cover Feed on their Android start screen.
Apart from the HTC First, which is optimized for Facebook Home, it is also compatible with six Android devices such as HTC One, One X, One X+, Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy S3 and S4.
The first thing that stands out about Facebook Home is that with this application occupying your home screen, it will take more than just a few swipes so as to access other applications like Chrome, Gmail, Twitter and your favorite games and so on and so forth.
And while that might not sit well with most smartphone users, the Chat Heads app has been appreciated for its ease of use to the point where reviewers believe that Apple, BlackBerry and even Microsoft should copy it for the benefit of their users as well.
Yet there’s one more thing: since you won’t need to enter a password to use Facebook on your smartphone, this might not work so well with users that are very particular about privacy
It’s also the reason why reviewers believe that people who don’t spend much time on Facebook won’t like using Facebook Home as well and for that matter, be content with a normal Android phone.
Keep in mind that if you want to run Facebook Home, and get your daily dose of status updates, news stories and photos from your friends, you will also have to run Facebook’s Android mobile application as well as Facebook Messenger for Android.
This software suite is currently available for users at the Google Play Store.
