Apple set for March 22nd Event

Apple has set a date for its march event. Slated for the 22nd, Apple are expected to unveil a new iPhone and a new iPad.

The rumors were for two possible iPad options. The first was an update to the iPad Air 3. This would bring it up to date with the new A9 processor and possibly include 3D touch. Apart from those two, the larger iPad is not missing much in terms of features. The other, and more plausible rumor is for a 9.7 inch iPad pro with stylus support. Ever since the launch of the iPad Pro, fans have been calling for a stylus support on the smaller iPad.

The iPhone rumors are for an updated 4 inch iPhone. Initially dubbed the iPhone 5se, rumors now indicate that Apple might drop the 5, and simply call it the iPhone SE. The 4 inch iPhone form factor is still very popular. This is regardless of the fact that it is now two generations behind. The new iPhone SE is expected to get the latest A9 CPU but leaked shots of the touchscreen show no signs of 3D touch support.

if the rumors are correct, these two products will complement the existing product lineup nicely. A 4 inch phone, updated every year, 6 months behind the latest larger phone model will give the iPhone lineup almost upto date hardware for those that still want a smaller phone. The smaller iPad pro will slot in nicely between the iPad Air and the iPad Pro.
