Alternatives to the new MacBook Pro

The launch of the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar has garnered the most negative response for any Apple product to date. No other Apple product has ever had a similar response, especially from fans and followers of the tech giant. This is in large part due to the removal of most ports in favor the going entirely USB-C. The other is due to the price increase across the board. Despite all the complaints, is there another alternative?

The display, build quality, and gorgeous design has been targeted by the competition before. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga has one of the best displays ever seen on its OLED screen. However, it falls short in many other departments, especially design. The Dell XPS13, considered to be one of the best, if not the best, Windows laptop has great design and battery life but falls short everywhere else. The HP Folio has an 180-degree hinge but is middling in all the other departments. The Razer Blade Stealth has everything you would want in a laptop – 4K touchscreen, 7th generation CPU etc. but is a gaming laptop and looks like it.

The problem at the end of the day is that regardless of all the issue raised by reviewers, journalists and fans, there is no real alternative to the MacBook Pro, there is nothing in the Windows world that can match all of its characteristics – industrial design, touchpad, battery life, and display – on a single laptop.
