Dongles you need for the MacBook Pro
The big Apple news in 2016 was the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. However, the attention was not due to the new touch bar. Instead, it was the two USB-C ports and the lack of any other. Apple removed the HDMI port, card reader, Thunderbolt and USB-A ports available in the previous model. Unfortunately, people will now need a plethora of dongles in order to connect older devices to the new MacBook Pro. While it is true that all of these dongles are inexpensive and available on any online, the complaints center on the inconvenience. Here is a list of dongles that most users will need:
USB-C to USB 3
This dongle is for all the standard USB devices. Everything from hard drive, pen drives to the mouse have the standard USB-A 3.0 ports. The Apple adaptor is a pricey $19. However, when shopping online you will find cheaper brands.
USB-C to USB-C
Apple only provides one USB-C cable out of the box. For those that charge laptops at home and at work, a second cable is essential.
USB-C to HDMI
This one is reserved only for those that connect the MacBook Pro to the TV or an external display. The old MacBook Pro could connect two external displays with HDMI and Display port. Users will need two dongles for the same two displays.
